I was watching 'Fried Green Tomatoes' for the third time and it totally struck me. http://www.hostboard.com/ubb/eek.gif That this great movie had these proto-Francine and Katchoos... And Frank Bennett is Freddie (albeit a bit psychotic), and Grady is (a slightly less appealing) David.
Whaddya think? Good acting did bring out those SIP qualities right?

So many double posts, so far off topic! I mean, I like to let my wand minder, but this is just out of hand! But I digress...(too much monday)
My choice for Katchoo--Kate Hudson. Mmm-hmm. Darcy--Carrie-Anne Moss. I'll go with Jennifer Connolly for Francine. For David, I say Chris Klein. Don't know 'em? Look 'em up at the internet movie database site.
Hm....Edward Norton as David? Well I adore Edward but I don't see him as David.
I do see Dan Futterman though (I might add I'm on a Dan Futterman kick these past 2 weeks, Urbania, 4 stars), he can literally do it all. Him being a gay character was TOO believable, I thought he must have been gay.
I used to work with someone who looked EXACTLY like Francine (and yes, I was freakin' happy about that), so I couldn't pick anyone but her.
As for Katchoo....hm, Katchoo would be a HARD casting I haven't seen a person who I honestly think can do Katchoo.
For those saying jennifer connelly can't act, please see 'Requiem for a Dream' (if you think you can handle it, of course.)
ang lee would probely keep the gals in the right light? keanu is not an actor; rather a cutout!remember dracula? renee z is a good katchoo!jennifer c ,well francine is more a state of mind not looks!whoever they pick,terry's mind is the fertile playground for our friends. keep them on paper! cheers maypo

(I still totally vote for Jennifer Connelly as Francine. She looks really well with weight on her. There used to be a pic for the premiere of Requiem for a Dream where she was a bit voluptuous.)
Katchoo: I like Joey and I sorta dig Renee...not bad you guys!

David = John Cusack. he just has that brooding poet quality to him
Darcy = Gena Gershon. i have to agree with flyonthewall. beautiful ,dangerous with just a touch of overconfidence
Tambi = Gabrielle Recce. afterthefact called this one and i'll agree. Ms. Reece is tall athletic and looks tough enough to toss anyone she wants around.
Mira Sorvino's been tossed around for pretty much every part except david i think. so i'll give her a rest.
Katchoo = Renee O'connor's done some great work on Xena, and even has a bit've toughness for it.
Freddie = Jason Alexander. balding, mouthy he's the man.
Francine = Marisa Tommei. dunno why that one she just seems to fit the role i think.
oh yeah.
i almost forgot someone.
Casey = Mira Sorvino. what the hell everyone thinks shes a ditz so i might as well jump on the bandwagon for this one.

i've just started enjoying SiP due to a housemates small obsession and i just can't get enough..i have a few suggestions for the movie casting..
katchoo=patricia arquette
darcy=demi moore
& i'm totally down w/ jennifer connelly as francine..
